W3C Extensible Markup Language (XML) 1.0 and, where a schema document is involved, W3C XML Schema 1.0 -- the well-known, widely available specifications needed to parse any of this project's .xsd or *-view.xml files as XML in the first place, prior to any DFDL- or view-file-specific vocabulary layered on top. Reused across every XML-based DataObject in this file rather than restated per file.
