Representation Information Network →

Its format hasn't been identified yet.

Write it out

Download the data description → Its Representation Information, with all it needs, as a zip: description.ttl and each structure description and view specification (DFDL, Kaitai Struct, DRB, ...) as a file.

Open the data

This Data Object's bits have a storage location, and its Representation Information says how to read them. Its Representation Information manifest (Turtle) names the data and each description explicitly; TOPCAT (with the oais-structure-topcat reader, format OAIS-RepInfo) and SPLAT open it by that address.

FITS →

Its Representation Information also says how to see it as an image. "View with DS9" or "Aladin" sends the image, decoded on the server as FITS, to that application running on your computer (over SAMP). Fiji/ImageJ doesn't use SAMP: open the FITS link's file in it, or give it the link's address with File › Import › URL. The FITS header carries the pixels' units and meaning.

See the values here

Decodes the data on the server through its Representation Information and prints each value, with where it is in the bits and what it means (its meaning, a code's meaning, a scaled value with its units), as RepInfo Tools does for a sample file — a page at a time, so a large file doesn't swamp the browser. The first page of a large file takes a while to decode; the pages after it don't.

Drag to pan, or use the mouse wheel to zoom. "First row at the bottom" follows the astronomical convention, as DS9 and Aladin show FITS images.

Preserve it by Transformation

Rewrite it in another format described in the archive, check its Transformational Information Properties, and record the result as a new Data Object in an AIP Version.
